TupTim Thai Restaurant
Last night was our first girls night out for the JRC. We went to TupTim Thia Restaurant and it was really good. I was really sceptical because I had never eaten Thai food before. The things on the menu sounded a little interesting as well. So I asked Megan what was good and she recommended the Phad Thai. So I thought what the heck everything else sounds weird lets go ahead and try it. Well it came and I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised. I got mine mild and with shrimp and it was really really yummy. I think part of the yumminess of it all was the fact that I was sitting there with a bunch of awesome girls and that I had no kids with me to fuss with. It was wonderful, thanx to my wonderful husband that took care of everything back at home and cleaned up after dinner. What a wonderful night, ahhhhhh!

Blue tongue
Last night I gave the girls a sucker and this is what Rylee's tongue looked like afterwards. Can you tell what color sucker she had?

She wanted Black but got purple
On Sunday night when we were laying in bed after we got back from the hospital Blake was telling Paige that when he broke his hand he had a black cast. So of, Paige wanting to be like her dad, says I am going to get a black cast too daddy. With all our attempts to get her to change her mind and get a pink one, she said she wanted a black one. So as soon as we got to the doctors office she asked them if they had a black cast. I just looked at the nurse and said N-O. So as she held up the color pole she kept her hand over the black. I was very thankful that she went along with it. To my shock though, Paige chose to get a purple cast. I thought for sure she would get a pink one.

No more jumping on the couch
Last night we thought it would be fun to have Kristin, Jared, and their boys Brayden and Jack over for dinner. So we invited them and had a really good dinner. Kristen and I went into the kitchen and cleaned up and cut up the brownies that everyone was looking forward to eating. Well Paige comes in crying and so Blake grabs her and says what is wrong. I thought that she was just needing to suck it up but Blake saw that she was holding her knee. So he examines her knee and she says no dad it is my arm. So he looks and it has this nasty drop in it. So he just says "Bre, Paige broke her arm." I was thinking ya right he is just joking me. So I go over and look and it was definately broken. So we asked what happened and she says that she was jumping on the couch and fell off and hit it on the wall. Now just a side note: For the last week I have been telling her several times a day to stop jumping on the couch. I have even told her that she is banned from the couch because all she does is jump on it. Anyways so we took her to the hospital and waited for 2 hours before they took us back to x-ray and then we had to wait forever to be seen by the PA. Anyways they said that she broke both bones and so they put a soft cast thing on it and we have to take her in later this week to get a hard cast on it. So it is not the Sunday that we thought that we would have but it was very adventerous.

Daddy needed to study
Blake needed to study yesterday so the girls and I and some other Law student wifes decided to go to Gage Park. It was pretty cold but we braved it and took a train ride. After the train got back to the station, the kids were able to go up and blow the horn.In the park they have all these fun toys that they can climb on and play with. This is a shoe that has a fire pole inside it. Paige tried it and loved it.
Rylee has a little friend named Jack. He loves to hold her hand, which she hates, and pull her along to what he wants to do. Whenever he even comes near her she pulls her hand to herself and either yells no or just starts screaming and running the other way. It is so cute but I feel bad for him.
When we were there I got some really cute pictures of the girls.
When we left we thought that daddy needed some more time to study so we went to the library so that the girl could play some more but not have to fight the cold.

Rollin', Rollin', Rollin'
Today we went to Brandi's house and had lunch with a few of the law student wives. Well it was really nice outside so we took the kids out and let them ride their bikes on the sidewalk and lay in the yard. Their yard has a little hill that goes down to their neighbors yard. Paige and Paige figured that it would be great fun to roll down the hill. But pretty soon they discovered that it was even more fun to roll over top of each other. Rylee kept watching them and thought that it looked like to much fun to pass up so she decided to try it out. She needed a little help but loved being able to roll and roll.

Rylee's many faces
Rylee's latest thing is to pull these really cute faces. When you ask her to smile she will give you these teeth together wide smile and it is the cutest thing you could ever see. She also loves to stick out her tongue and make other silly faces. Whenever I see her doing a cute face I just get this huge smile on my face. She also knows how to use this to her advantage.

Huff and Puff Hot Air Balloons
Last night us and the Rogers' went to the Topeka Huff and Puff balloon race. We stayed on the other side of the lake so that we didn't have to battle the traffic. It was fun they just had them tethered and then when it got dark they would shoot some fire into them and they would light up. So here are a few pictures of them.
At first they just had 2 up and we thought that that would be disappointing but as the night went on more came up.
This is (from left to right): Paige Murray, Faith, Rylee, and Paige Rogers. They were so excited to watch the balloons go up.
Brenden backed his truck up and we sat in the back of it. Here are the boys hanging out.
This is the whole crew that went. The other family is the Rogers' family. They are who we hang out with most here. We have so much in common it is kind of scary. They have really helped us to make the transition easier.

Severe Thunder Warning
Last night we were sleeping peacefully when ll of a sudden the wind howling outside woke me up. It was so loud that it was starting to scare me so I got up to go bring in the things that were on the porch. As I opened the blinds I couldn't believe what I was seeing. It was raining cats and dogs and the wind was whipping and the sky was lit up like it was the middle of the day because of the lightning. So I went and got Blake to come and help me. The sattelite dish that was out there on the riling had almost blown off. Blake had to really hold on to it to be able to bring it in. It was so crazy. We looked up the weather on the internet and it said that the winds were gusting up to 70 miles per hour !!!!! I was so scared that a tornado was going to whip through and carry us back to Idaho or beyond. And of course the girls slept right through it all. Here are some pictures of the rain and then of Blake trying to get the dish and then of him drenched when he came back in.

Paige is in Preschool !!!
Paige went to her first day of preschool today. It was at Sally's house and she loved it. Today they learned about the letter A and what sound it makes. She got to glue pom poms onto a letter A and then she made a hand puppet that was a bunny.

Addicted
So for labor day we had Brandi and Brenden Rogers over for swimming and dinner. It was so much fun to head down to the pool and splash around with everyone. Then we came back and had a delicious meal. Or as Paige would say a goodlicious meal. Well after dinner dishes were done and the kids were settled in for a movie the adults broke out the game Settlers. Blake and I had never played before so the Rogers' took a shot at teaching us. Before we started they told us that they were not responsible for us getting hooked and having to play all the time and wanting to get one (they are a little expensive.) Anyways as they were explaining how to play I could feel myself getting hooked. And then we started to play and I felt myself sink deeper and deeper. It is an awesome game. I told them that it was a good thing that I have never gambled because I am the type that would get addicted and have to do it all the time. So maybe after Law school when we are out of debt we will be able to get one of our very own and play teach you guys and get you all addicted like I am.
