Nauvoo Trip

I am sorry that it has taken me so long to post these, but we were having to much fun in Nauvoo that I didn't have time for blogging. So here are a few pictures and I will try and get a slide show together and post it.

This is the beautiful Nauvoo Temple. It is absolutely gorgeous inside. It is all done with dark wood. They even have dark wood floors. The best part was standing in the basement and looking up the spiral staircase to the very top. We were so thankful that we got to go through a session.

This was taken on Tuesday morning when it was foggy outside.

At the living center they had all these fun demonstrations. This was the best one cause they let us try some bread. It was so good that I am still craving it. They also showed us how to spin wool, dip candles, how to make barrels, and how to make a rope.

When we got there on Monday we first stopped at Carthage Jail, but I couldn't find my camera so we didn't get any pictures. But when we got to Nauvoo it was pouring rain so all we were able to do is go to the Visitor's center.

I love this picture of Blake and Rylee.

Rylee loved this statue of Christ. She spent most of her time trying to give Jesus a hug. It was so sweet.

This is the podium at the Seventies Hall. We learned that missionaries used to be called seventies instead of elders. The hall was built as a place for the missionaries to go learn there languages and things. Upstairs they had some old artifacts that they had dug up from different places in Nauvoo. They had some old dishes that belonged to Brigham Young.

Our family standing in front of the statue of Christ.

When we went to the brickyard there was already a group doing the tour so we had to wait for them. Paige and Paige had fun playing in the dirt out back.

All in all it was a great trip. We went from March 17-March 20 and it was so much fun. We shared a hotel room that had a kitchen with our good friends Brenden and Brandi Rodgers. It was great to get away and spend some time with Blake.

Oh, it sounds like you had so much fun! I loved seeing all the little homes and shops that were re-done in Nauvoo. Sad I missed the bread shop, though! How far of a drive is it from your place?
